Connecting Families
Connecting families to resources they don’t know exist.

If you’ve donated in the past year, chances are some of your dollars went towards supporting my new position as the Family House’s new Support Services Coordinator. Thank you!
Here are examples of how your gifts improve lives!
- One guest was thinking ahead to how her adult daughter would be able to function in her home. The home needed repair, not to mention adaptations that would make it accessible to a wheelchair. I made some phone calls in the High Country and gave our guest specific contact information for services that could help her and her daughter.
- Another guest receiving cancer treatment needed a boost in self-esteem. I gave her information about Cancer Services (which she hadn’t heard of before). As a result, she was able to receive free wigs, scarves, and access to experts!
- One couple from Charlotte had questions about how to fill out a living will and healthcare power of attorney. I walked them through the documents, and the couple went home eager to discuss their wishes with their adult children.
Recent guest, Gina (left), kicked off our What I Learned blog series with “Lessons from a Caregiver.”
