Yesterday, our Family House Board of Directors and management team made the expected decision to postpone the Men Who Cook event that was scheduled for next Saturday, March 21st at Bridger Field House.
While the event is critical to the support of our Family House patients and their caregivers throughout the year, the recent recommendations from our local and state authorities have made our decision less difficult. The health and safety of our chefs, attendees, sponsors, staff and entire community is our first priority.
In the meantime, the Family House has taken several preventative measures to ensure the safety of our current registered house guests; by enhancing housekeeping protocols, restricting visitors, suspending volunteer group activities, and communicating and encouraging healthy behaviors to our vulnerable population.
As we explore the viability of a rescheduled event, we’ll be reaching out to you soon regarding how we might steward your contribution you made to SECU Family House when you purchased tickets. We look forward to those conversations, and are most grateful for your support of our mission, and appreciate your understanding. We promise we’ll be in touch as we work through our plans!
If you have any questions or concerns Tracy would be pleased to speak with you, and can be reached at Tracy.Geiger@familyhousews.org, or (336-793-2822).

The event brings together local male celebrity chefs and their cooking teams who battle it out to please the tastebuds of nearly 400 hungry attendees of the event. Participating chefs come from all sectors of the Winston-Salem community from banking to clergy, lawyers to realtors, higher education to local media, and everything in between.
Thank you to all the sponsors, chefs, attendees, and volunteers who come together to make each Men Who Cook event a huge success!
“I can see how and why the event has become the ‘go to fundraiser’ in our community. It’s fun. It’s relaxed. There are no lengthy speeches. Just people having a super casual good time eating and drinking.”
