SECU Family House Awarded $25,000 From The Leon Levine Foundation

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., (JULY 19, 2021)–The SECU Family House has been awarded a $25,000 gift from The Leon Levine Foundation.  The Leon Levine Foundation, based in Charlotte, N.C., focuses on supporting nonprofits in the areas of education, health care, human services and Jewish values throughout both North and South Carolina.

The $25,000 gift will support the SECU Family House in its mission to provide affordable lodging and supportive care to adult patients and their families who travel to the Winston-Salem area for medical care.

Families from across the state and throughout the region and beyond benefit from the family house.  A recent guest from Cabarrus County said that “SECU Family House was a blessing to our family.  It felt like home, and we were so impressed by all who were employed there.  They provided us dinners, as well as a support system to care for us during our family’s medical crisis.  SECU Family House is a wonderful and safe place to stay when you’re in need.”

“We are humbled to be recognized by and awarded this gift from The Leon Levine Foundation,” said Kathy Carr, Executive Director of SECU Family House.  “To be among the organizations that The Leon Levine Foundation has chosen to give to is an honor, and we are proud that we will be able to continue serving the wonderful patients and families who enter our doors thanks to their generous acknowledgment of the work that we do.”
