The meaning behind this year’s holiday décor
It’s already special that a former guest, Ben, returns to the house to decorate the Family House for the holidays. As a professional florist, he and his team transform the living room with his red and gold tree, complete with an ornate topper.
This year he decorated two additional trees with a special theme: cardinals.
There is an old saying that we hear a lot at the Family House.
“When a cardinal appears in your yard, it’s a visitor from heaven.”
We certainly get a lot of cardinals around the house. It’s not uncommon to see as many as 5 bright red male birds sitting in the trees waiting to get to the bird feeders. Every time we see them, we pause to think about the guests we’ve come to know and love who are no longer with us.
For Ben, the cardinals he saw during his stay meant so much to him that he was inspired to decorate these two cardinal-themed Christmas trees for us. They take our breath away!
Also, thank you to the volunteers who dropped off bags of Christmas Cheer throughout the month of December. You are appreciated!
