Welcome!
Give a warm Family House welcome to Erin Charles, who recently joined us as Education Program Manager. Erin recently transitioned from a career in nursing, and from a residence in Colorado. Learn a little more about her!
On caregivers
I love caregivers! They are the heart of the patients we serve. As a mom and caregiver to a special needs kiddo, I understand that caregivers often are the unsung hero. Feeling lonely and isolated at times, they often have the heart of a servant, putting everyone else’s needs above their own.
On hospitality
Hospitality is actually a gift. It’s making people feel welcome. It’s those extra touches that may go unnoticed but are appreciated nonetheless. When you’re the outsider, it’s feeling like you fit in, like you belong.
On a great meal
I believe any meal is great when it’s shared around a table with friends. Life happens around the table. Food is shared. Conversation is shared. Love abounds. I love having people around my table.
On first steps with the Family House
My first steps with the Family House would probably be to master everyone’s names! I want to accentuate the work that has already been done and just take it to the next level. The education program is such a neat concept and I hope that both the students and the caregivers feel like they’ve not only learned something through the experience but that they are actually blessed by it as well.
