The guests who stayed at the Family House last Friday night were in for quite a treat. Libby and Bill came back into town for follow-up appointments at the Hospital and to check up on us. That usually means a night of smiles, laughter, and encouragement, but this time it also happened to be Libby’s birthday! After staying with us for 5 weeks, the House meant so much to the Lilly’s that they wanted to bring Mrs. Lilly’s birthday party with them. What a night, complete with good conversation, photo ops, and dinner for the entire House.
And Elvis!
The entire dining room was full with guests eating a hearty BBQ supper, taking photos, dancing, and listening to good music!
The Lilly’s have known Elvis (Mr. Johnson) and his mother Peggy for years. Both have been close friends throughout the years, with Mr. Johnson singing at Bill and Libby’s wedding, and Peggy regularly stepping up to help drive Libby or Bill to their doctor’s appointments when the other isn’t well enough to drive. She’s their “guardian angel” said Libby. What a friendship!
All in all, the Lilly’s came back and did what they do best–made the best out of their situation and brought with them encouragement, support, and love to pass around and make the House more than just a place to stay! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Lilly, and Happy Birthday!
