2018 Rockstars
In April we honored our 2018 Volunteers of the Year. Meet them here!
Teresa Hampton:
Teresa is the most steady and reliable data entry volunteer that we have at the Family House. Although she volunteers on Sunday afternoons when the rest of the staff is gone, we feel her presence on Monday mornings after she moves a mountain of data entry into the “completed” pile. She plays a critical role at the Family House, because our guests are like family to us and we want to stay connected after they return home. The best way we can do that is to add them into our database. We value Teresa’s service to the Family House!
The Summit Church:
The Summit Church is one of our beloved “Grand Slam” monthly meal service groups. They serve 45-50 hungry guests a warm, home-cooked meal once a month. They dish out more than comfort food during their service, as the meal is a time for camaraderie and fellowship. In addition to their meals, The Summit Church stepped up in a big way in 2017 by hosting a successful wish list drive to collect hairdryers for all guest rooms.
The Summit’s Big Serve (a week of service initiative) brings even more enthusiastic people to the Family House. Last year, their landscaping work spruced up our curb appeal so families will immediately feel comfortable as they drive onto campus. The Summit donated the supplies and manpower, which saved the Family House over $1,000 in labor and supplies!
Thanks for all that you do!
