Elizabeth traveled alone from West Virginia to a strange city, traumatized over the sudden critical illness of her husband. She stayed just a few days, but the feeling of safety and comfort at the Family House will stay with her for much longer.
Generous groups assemble caregiver bags and welcome cards for guests. Volunteers Diane and Susan make additional bags from surplus items each week. “The welcome bags are part of the whole idea of making the Family House a home for guests,” says Diane.
