A Trio of Keepers

Meet our incredible housekeeping team

If one thing is for certain, our guests will check in to a fresh, clean, comfortable room provided by the talented housekeeping team at the SECU Family House. The dedication, hospitality, and care displayed by this trio, Shannel, Kayla, and LaTeea, is amazing, especially since re-opening in May with several new procedural changes due to COVID-19.

We believe guests should run into a smile every time they turn a corner at the house. LaTeea knows how important that is for her, and for the families she passes in the hallways. “I’m more than housekeeping I feel like I am a part of the family team. I feel like I do with my smile, I brighten up everybody’s day that I can.”

The way to LaTeea’s heart is through food!

Guests are noticing their daily work efforts. One guest mentioned, “We felt safe [with] the safety protocols [that] were in place and everyone was respectful of masks, distancing and cleanliness. This was a relief [because] in our travel over it was not the case. The security and understanding of the situation was a big comfort.”

Since starting with us in 2018, Shannel has found that her work inspecting rooms for quality is appreciated. “At the end of the day, I love my job because guests come up to me and say we do a wonderful job and we are here for them.”

When Shannel’s off, she enjoys shopping for handbags and eating out!

It may come as a surprise, but the amount of guest interaction that our housekeepers have with guests add on an additional layer of personal experience.

“I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. There was one woman I remember who was here for two weeks while her dad was in the hospital. We’d talk in the hallway every day. She left me a nice note when she checked-out which was so sweet that I posted it on my fridge at home,” says Kayla.

You might find Kaya walking her one year old blue heeler during her time off.

These ladies are dedicated to keeping our facility clean and safe for our families and staff and we are so lucky to have them on our team.
