Guest Service Associate
Position Summary: The Guest Service Associate (GSA) is responsible for maintaining safety and security while providing hospitality, compassion, and support for guests and visitors of SECU Family House. The GSA interacts with guests, responds to guest needs, and maintains a fresh, clean, and sanitary environment throughout the public areas of the SECU Family House. This position requires a person to: be naturally outgoing and pleasant, have a heart for service and enjoy connecting with and serving people from varying backgrounds, respond calmly to change and emergency situations, be comfortable with using judgment and making decisions with minimal supervision, and manage time wisely when working independently. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who may be able to cover varying shifts with a focus on the afternoons and evenings from 1130am-730pm , 330pm-1130pm or 11:30pm-8am.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a warm welcome to guests as they enter the SECU Family House or approach the desk.
- Review and complete items on the Shift Checklists during each shift
- Ensure key control and sign-in procedures are being followed
- Respond to new requests, assign rooms, register guests, provide house tours, check out guests, and maintain property management system records accurately
- Assist guests with requesting transportation, directions, maps, amenities, linen replacement, or special requests as needed
- Answer the telephone and contact guests as needed with messages
- Uphold and enforce SECU Family House rules and policies
- Monitor public areas and clean/sanitize as needed
- Provide secure guest entry to building as needed
- Follow all cash, check, and credit card transactions per standard procedures
- Record all maintenance issues per procedure and report any safety/security issues immediately to Guest Service Supervisor
- Work with and maintain good relations with volunteers
- Record all in-kind donations on proper forms
- Maintain in strict confidence all conversations and information regarding guests and their families
- Operate certain mechanized equipment such as vacuum and steam cleaner
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of laundry room, loading the washer and dryer, and folding linens as needed
- Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services
- Notify the Supervisor On Call of any accidents, problems, or unusual happenings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Compensation:
- $12 – $13.25 per hour
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in a responsible position with proven ability to interact with people of different backgrounds
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to think quickly and independently
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Physical demands for this position include sitting, standing, bending, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, lifting, and/or moving up to 25 lbs. Must be able to move continuously throughout the shift
