Monday or Tuesday evenings are filled with the sounds of musical expertise from wonderful Family House volunteers who enjoy playing relaxing piano music for guests during dinner time.
The Family House Education Program is a unique collaboration of students across the health care professions. They visit the Family House to speak with family members who volunteer to sit and tell their story. Students learn valuable lessons about caregivers that increase awareness and inspire confidence to advocate for patients and their families.
One look at a four-legged volunteer is all it takes to bring a smile to your face. Our therapy dogs are certified and on good behavior at all times. Here for hugs, snuggles, and the occasional sloppy kiss, be sure to stop and say hello.
We’re glad to offer Bingo as a fun and easy respite from days spent at the hospital. After dinner on Wednesday nights, volunteer callers spin the ball and hand out prizes to the lucky Bingo winners. Be sure to stick around for a good time!
Stitch x Stitch
Comprised of ladies from St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Stitch x Stitch comes once a month to knit in the second floor living room. Whether you’ve been knitting for years, wanting to learn, or just looking for friendly conversation, they would love your company! All supplies included.
Wellness Through Art
A partnership with Sawtooth School for Visual Art brings art activities, along with fun and laughter, to the Family House. Art instructors will work with families to help them document their journeys and find ways to relieve stress through art. No experience needed!
On Monday evenings, chaplain residents from Wake Forest Baptist Hospital are on hand to visit, listen, and offer prayer and support. Chaplains offer a brief Devotional in the chapel after dinner, giving guests an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and song.
Support and Connection
Find spiritual support and connection with others. Enjoy our peaceful chapel on the 1st floor, share prayer requests, and visit with chaplains from WFBMC on Monday evenings.
Check the monthly activities calendar in your room for times and locations for each activity.
